FED4 Environmental Sensing: Temperature, Light, Humidity & Gas

The FED4 monitors temperature, humidity, pressure, gas (air quality), and ambient light via two integrated sensors. By default values are polled and logged every 10 minutes.

1. The BME680 environmental sensor provides:

Measurement Unit Typical use
Temperature °C Chamber / ambient temperature
Humidity % RH Relative humidity
Pressure hPa Barometric pressure
Gas Gas resistance (VOC / air quality)

Example Temp/Humidity data logged in a mouse cage over 10 days: image

2. The Vishay VEML7700 ambient-light sensor provides:

Measurement Unit Description
Lux lx Illuminance (human-eye weighted).
White Raw white light value.

Example light readings in a mouse cage over 10 days in a facility with a 12/12 light/dark cycle: image
