Arduino IDE settings

Installing Arduino software, FED4 board, and FED4 library.

Download and install the Arduino IDE

Launch the Arduino IDE and click on File > Preferences. Add the following URL to the field "Additional Board Manager URLs":

https://espressif.github.io/arduino-esp32/package_esp32_index.json

Click Tools > Board > Boards Manager and search for "Espressif". Find "esp32 by Espressif Systems" in the results and click "Install". The installation process will take a few minutes, go get a coffee.

Click Tools > Manage libraries and search for "fed4". Install it with all dependent libraries.

Flashing FED4

Restart the Arduino IDE and click on File>Examples>FED4>Programs to select a FED4 program to flash.

Plug FED4 into your computer via the USB-C connection. You should hear the USB connection jingle.

Click Select Board>Select other board and port. Search for "fed4" and click on FED4 and the connected USB port. Click OK.

Click the arrow to flash FED4. This may take ~5 minutes the first time you flash, it will get faster on subsequent flashes.

When it is done, the Output window will show this:
