- I selected a title and pasted it into the search field then performed a search but the title wasn't found, why?
Answer: Mdview appends invisible characters to the titles. Although invisible, they count as regular characters, and get included in the search term. Then the search fails because the invisible characters do not come from the Markdown file.
Tip: When you paste a title from mdview to another application, erase and rewrite the last visible character to get rid of the invisible characters that come after it.
- Error on line 172 char 44: Element “markup” was closed, but the currently open element is “s”.
Answer: This error message usually means that one or more paragraphs contain an odd number of tilde characters~. Markdown uses paired tildes to mark strike-through text, for example ~strike 1~ and ~~strike 2~~. It is invalid for tildes to be unbalanced. To fix this error you can either add the missing tilde or escape the offending tilde with a backslash or disable strike-through text altogether with option--no-strikethrough.
Note: The error message line and character numbers do not refer to the original Markdown input text.
