Fox Keyboard is Sri Lanka's premier open-source Sinhala keyboard app for Android. Designed with privacy in mind to help users avoid government tracking, it promotes open-source collaboration and is entirely donation-based. This lightweight, fast-performing keyboard supports Android 5.0 and above, ensuring broad compatibility across devices.

Enable the keyboard
Settings > System > Languages & input > Virtual keyboard > Manage keyboards -
Select Fox Keyboard as your default input method.
Manual Installation
Download the APK from the releases page and sideload it.
Fox Keyboard is an Android input method (IME).
Like all keyboard apps, it must process user input in order to function.
Important privacy guarantees:
- No internet permission
- No keystroke logging
- No analytics or tracking
- No data is stored or transmitted
- Switch between layouts (Sinhala, Singlish, English, Emoji) via the globe key or settings menu.
- Customize themes and sizes in the app's settings.
- For developers: fork the repo and contribute via pull requests!
