💡 What: Replaced the inefficient and broken pipeline cat "$file" | sed 's// /g' | tr ... with a single tr command using input redirection.
🎯 Why:

  1. Performance: Removes 2 process forks (cat and sed) for every single file processed.
  2. Correctness: The sed 's// /g' command was invalid (missing regex) and caused sed to fail, resulting in empty output for all files.
    📊 Impact:
  • Reduces system overhead significantly for large repositories.
  • Restores broken functionality (files are now actually extracted).
    🔬 Measurement:
  • Verified with reproduce_issue.sh that content is now correctly extracted (was 0 bytes, now full content).
  • Validated with test/test_basic.sh and test/test_features.sh.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 7024311492654000367 started by @w3spi5

- Replaced `cat | sed | tr` pipeline with `tr < file` redirection.
- Eliminates 2 unnecessary process forks per file processed.
- Fixes a critical bug where `sed 's// /g'` caused data loss (empty output) for all files.
- Improved performance and reliability of content extraction.
