FollowButton wiki
Users will own and control the data they publish without compromising social reach.
Privacy can be customized to the user’s desire. FollowButton will contain a button the user can drag to her browser’s bookmarks bar for easily following any page on the internet that can be followed (blogs, information feeds, government agencies, news media, hospitals, etc.).
Publishing to FollowButton will seamlessly cross-post to other networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
FollowButton is open source software, so the community can participate in its progress forward.
FollowButton users will have two options very similar to WordPress: A version that is simply logged in to like Facebook and hosted by FollowButton (similar to WordPress.com) or a self-hosted version (similar to WordPress.org).

The user logs in to FollowButton
He is prompted to connect accounts to existing social networks
he begins to see a news feed of his friends and followees

He sees a news feed of those he’s following as well as his own activity from around the web
He will have a settings tab for
