[WIP] Fix merge conflicts in pull request 197

The merge conflicts have been fully resolved. The add-mssql-support branch has been merged with upstream/main and all conflicts fixed.

Note: Due to authentication limitations, the resolved branch cannot be automatically pushed to vkuttyp/db0. The user needs to manually run:

git push origin add-mssql-support --force-with-lease
