Summary of Changes

Hello @csegarragonz, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request focuses on a comprehensive update and streamlining of the project's build environment and dependencies. It involves bumping key submodules like cpp-sysroot and tensorflow, upgrading the foundational Docker base image to Ubuntu 24.04, and refining the Docker build process by updating image versions and optimizing installation steps. Additionally, it cleans up the codebase by removing outdated examples and refactors Docker task management for better modularity, alongside a minor update to container registry naming conventions.

Highlights

  • Dependency Updates: The cpp-sysroot and tensorflow submodules have been updated to their latest commits, ensuring the project uses up-to-date dependencies.
  • Docker Base Image Upgrade: The base Docker image for the build environment has been upgraded from Ubuntu 22.04 to Ubuntu 24.04, providing a more current operating system foundation.
  • Docker Build Process Refinement: The examples-base Docker image version has been bumped, and the OpenMP installation process in build.dockerfile has been reordered and enhanced with additional necessary packages like build-essential, curl, and unzip.
  • Removal of Outdated Examples: The rabe and tless-jwt examples, along with their associated submodule updates and build steps, have been removed from the Docker build configuration.
  • Docker Task Refactoring: The tasks/docker.py script has been modified to decouple the image pushing operation from the build command, requiring explicit calls for pushing images.
  • Container Registry Naming Convention: The internal reference for the container registry name has been updated from ACR_NAME to CR_NAME in tasks/env.py, suggesting a more generic or updated naming convention.

Code Review

This pull request updates several dependencies and cleans up the Docker build process. The base Ubuntu image is upgraded to 24.04, and the cpp-sysroot and tensorflow submodules are updated. The Dockerfiles are refactored to consolidate package installations and remove the rabe and tless-jwt examples, which simplifies the build. I've added one suggestion to the build.dockerfile to further optimize the Docker image size by cleaning up the apt cache.
