I significantly changed the script to use the aspace client gem. I also created another script to use curl if the records are really big. When I ran it with the record you were having issues with:

I was able to get a resource back. However, I didn't try running it with the original script. So, you might want to try running it again just to make sure. However, these changes make the marc-cli and ead-cli more consistent in terms of how they are being used.
