Rationale

Going to the post office and getting a set of passport photos is something that costs some money and sometimes people are unsatisfied with how good they look in the final picture. In Australia, a set of passport photos will cost you about A$11, which is not particularly cheap. How great would be to make your own photos at home, have them printed instantly for 20c and be sure that they will be accepted when you lodge your application?

There are certainly a number of web applications that allows the user to create a tiled print of passport photos online but all the ones I've seen requires the user to select the region to crop manually. The sizing and centering of the face in the cropped picture is a common reason for a passport photo to be rejected. Most passport standards are very strict on the dimensions of the cropped photo, the maximum and minimum size allowed for the face and its position and orientation in the photo.

The idea of this app came from how difficult is to prepare a set of passport photographs at home and get them printed with the right scale to later be cropped.
