I'm a Computer Science undergraduate at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) and a Research Assistant with the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS), engineering a national-scale early-warning forecast system for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI, H5N1).
My work focuses on machine learning pipelines for infectious disease modeling:
- Imbalance: Spatiotemporal modeling under extreme class imbalance (~1% prevalence).
- Integrity: Leakage-safe evaluation via walk-forward validation.
- Interpretability: Discovering how black-box models work with SHAP, ternary confusion matrices, log-scale calibration, etc.
