I used datarequests.org to send an email to discord requesting my data. I did not modify the suggested text of the email.

The response from discord was lengthy, but didn't include my data. Instead, they linked the "Requesting a Copy of your Data" article on their own support site, which in turn indicated that I needed to make the request from within Discord itself, from the app/site's User Settings.

Based on this, it seems that emails to request data from Discord do not result in them giving you your data, and users could skip the step of emailing and getting this response by following those instructions.
