TapIn: Build a Digital Business Card!

Teaching Static Web Development with NFC Technology

📢 About

This project introduces students to the basics of static web development through the creation of a digital business card. Using Glitch as the development platform and NFC chips for easy sharing, students will build personalized web pages that showcase their academic background, personal info, work or project experiences, goals, and social links. The result is a smart, modern way to network and share professional profiles with a simple tap — perfect for students looking to boost their digital presence.

  • Needed Material: NFC Chip, Mobile App capable of reading and writing to NFC Chip
  • The primary goal of this project is educating others about static web development by creating a digital business card using NFC technology
  • The Technology Ambassador Program (TAP) at GGC strives to break the misconceptions of the IT field by providing fun workshops for students of all backgrounds. TAP students design engaging and fun outreach workshops to encourage interest in IT and STEM.

The result is a convenient and innovative method for students to network and share their professional and personal information with others they encounter. The target audience are students seeking to enhance their networking capabilities and digital presence.

  2. Class Workshops (April 6, April 11, and April 27) - Walk students through a guided workshop.
  3. STaRS Poster Presentation (April 14) - Display our poster and explain the data we collected to the judges.
  4. Title One Workshops (April 23) - Walk middle school students through our workshop to give them hands-on experience.
  5. Super Saturday Series (April 30) - Host a day of fun at GGC for middle school students.
