Would rotating back to red be preferred to using violet?

I opened #244 as an alternative to this approach. I'm ok with either so I'll close if we prefer this change instead. |

The current hue-rotate setting also changes originally red error message to be green which is a bit confusing. Using violet makes this a bit less confusing.
