Battle of the Bands

An RPG game where user starts a band and beats other bands in musical combat.

Description

User names their band and hits the stage! In each level, the user will face off against a new band and attempt to raise the audience's hype bar to 100% before their opponent. To battle, the user can chorus(straight up attack to raise hype), solo(charge an attack for extra hype), focus(charge defense against the opponent's next turn), or flourish(attack with a random chance of extra hype). If the user beats the other band, they gain that opponent as a bandmate. Snappy dialogue from opponents and bandmates tells the story of the user's journey from garage band to sold out stadium.

Setup/Installation Requirements

1. Clone this repository from GitHub to your local machine.
2. Open the new directory.
3. Ensure node.js is installed in your terminal.
4. Type "npm install" in the terminal.
5. Type "npm run start" to output an index.html file in the "dist" directory and bring up the distribution build in a Chrome web browser.
6. You can also open a development server by typing "npm run start". See it on GitHub Pages

Known Bugs

• Name input does not have a character restriction and may cause issues if too many are entered.
• Audio may not always play automatically.
