This script automates a key video editing step in CapCut by converting blue time markers into ready-to-use timestamps for your YouTube video description.
CapCut Auto Timestamp is a Python utility that extracts custom time markers (color #00c1cd) from your CapCut projects and formats them as YouTube-ready chapters.
It automatically locates your draft_content.json project file, converts the internal timestamps to full project timecodes, and generates a ready-to-paste list for your YouTube video description.
- 🧠 Automatic project detection (optional) — detects your currently open CapCut project if
psutilis installed. - 💬 Command line only — no pop-up windows, everything happens directly in the CMD window.
- 🕒 Accurate YouTube chapters — generates timestamps in
HH:MM:SS - Marker Nameformat. - 🎞 Intro marker added automatically — always includes
00:00:00 - Einleitungat the top. - 🧩 Portable — works on any Windows PC with CapCut installed.
- 💾 Simple output — creates a
YouTube_Chapters.txtfile next to the script.
