The service for OS X project.

service is aimed at extending the functionality of OS X's launchctl to provide full control over daemons and agents managed by launchd. As a fork of launchctl itself, it will have all of the capabilities of the original but with a more convenient interface, as well as added functionality within the scope of the launchd platform.

As the project currently exists, it is a working copy of the code from Apple's launchd-842.90.1. All of the required private header files have been added, and all unrelated files have been removed, yielding a standalone project which builds a working version of launchctl. This will allow for minimal rewrites and full compatibility as the project progresses.
