Rewrite the contributor guide based on best practices from major GSoC orgs (Google, Julia, Rust, FOSSology, OpenAstronomy, Creative Commons, Apache, Drupal). - Add structured introduction requirements for #gsoc channel - Add proposal template with 6 named sections - Add transparent rejection reasons (replaces "will not get a response") - Add communication norms (response times, public channels, no gendered titles) - Add PR quality guidance (avoid trivial PRs and massive unsolicited features) - Add scope guidance, AI policy, other commitments disclosure - Add during-program expectations (weekly updates, mentors as advocates) - Update ideas page header to direct applicants to contributor guide Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.6 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
