Welcome to the NEX wiki! The wiki for the Non-uniform sampling EXchange format.

The NEX project is an NMRBox initiative to engage the bioNMR community in creating a draft standard for the reporting of NMR sampling schedules. This GitHub repository will be used to host the proposed data dictionary and example cases for the standard-in-development. NEX is a STAR format and will therefore be compatible with NMR-STAR.

Documentation of the data dictionary elements and general outline of the format will be preserved in the wiki portion of this repository. Suggestions/feedback are welcome.

The primary save frame for the NEX format is for the FID_sampling information. This save frame includes optional information for the software which generated the schedule, as well as mandatory values of the spectral parameters associated with the sampling schedule. The samples themselves are contained in the FID loop, with the general principle that there is one FID per schedule line in the loop. If a FID is collected twice, that line is repeated in the sample schedule.
