fake-08 fails to build due to some upstream change being incompatible with fake-08.patch, but the underlying issue that the patch addressed appears to have been resolved upstream a long time ago.
The original bug had to do with loading a savestate at core launch (by pressing X), which now works fine without the old patch.
Also correct the ARCH/OPT bug in poweroff_next makefile
