To start the CLI, run...
java -Xmx1G -Xms1G -cp HRDBMS.jar:. com.exascale.cli.CLI
This will get you an HRDBMS> prompt.
The first thing you need to do is connect to HRDBMS. You can do this by...
connect to jdbc:hrdbms://hostname:port [force]
Port should be the value of your port_number parameter in the hparms file (default is 3232). Hostname should be the hostname or ip of any coordinator. If you specify force, it says you need to be connected to that specific coordinator and load balancing is not allowed to reroute you to a different coordinator.
After that you can issue any SQL commands.
REMARK: Do not end the commands with a semi-colon. Hitting enter ends the command. For commands that span multiple lines, just keep typing.
If you enter the command...
timing on
You will then get timing information back for all your queries. Type quit to exit the CLI.
