Besides the need to improve our skills in frontend, backend, and data science and get experience working as a team and to improve our communication skills; nowadays is indispensable to have an online system of reservations of any kind of service your company is offering to everyone. Therefore, we are going to make a reservation system of appointments with doctors and specialists. There you can sign in and log in with your social media, you can select the date and have some information about the doctor or the specialist you are interested in and, obviously, you can make a reservation.
This project is important because in Colombia and other countries if you want an appointment with a specialist you must do it through one call to the specialist´ secretary and wait to get a positive answer of his/her agenda. Thus, we are trying to reach a bet application where we can portray one solution to this problem.
The process of execution of the project is summarized in a couple of steps.
- First, to investigate some reference sites of booking.
- Second, to define the design of the website and the functionality.
- And finally, to develop the website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and, additionally, some other technologies like Python 🐍 , node.js, etc.
After all the process detailed previously, we need to get an assessment from our coach and iterate to get a good beta app or improve it a little more.
Due to current conditions not only in Colombia but worldwide, the health sector in general has taken a course which will expose it to difficult decision conditions where, on the one hand, it must deal with the problem of overcrowding and care timely not only for patients with COVID-19, but also in the other specialties that people require such as, to name a few, dentistry, surgical operations, treatments and the entire catalog of diseases, chronic conditions, ailments and even accidents that are present in all levels and socio-economic strata of a population, city or country, and on the other hand, reliability of public and health care programmed according to the needs of patients such as the execution and care of traditional medical appointments.
In that order of ideas and in order to abide by the order of social distancing, quarantine at home and self-care of people, it is important to support the health sector with technological tools that allow patients and users in general with the ability to pay and technological means, they can book and take medical appointments remotely, that is, that medical care is carried out through a platform that promotes social distancing and prevents patients from traveling on unnecessary occasions to take a medical appointment.
The entire process would be carried out on the platform, starting with the registration of the users, going through the appointment reservation according to the required specialty, later the appointment payment, and then through reminders to the email and telephone line schedule the appointment and in the next few days make the respective reminders to avoid losses or reassignments of attention.
Finally, the appointment is taken directly from the platform via the web with all the computer security protocols that are required in the time that the specialist, according to the analyzes, queries and history, considers with a maximum of 30 minutes, to achieve the best possible care and move on to reassignment of a new web medical appointment.
Through this solution, we intend to attack the serious problem of uncrowded crowds in health entities head-on so that together we cut the scope of COVID-19 and avoid the spread of the virus intelligently and with tools available to the majority of citizens and inhabitants of the country.

1.Sign in/ Sign up / Login / Logout screen. This will be implemented using google and twitter authentication means. 2.Screen to select dates and data concerning the service to be booked. 3.Screen to list the options for the user. 4.Detail screen of the service to be booked. 5.Screen to confirm the data for the reservation and confirmation of the reservation.
Week 1. Frontend.
- Make the design of the application views with the figma tool:
- Define the application flow ensuring an optimal UX.
- Define a consistent color palette.
- Make the web and mivil design of the application.
- Choose the technological tools to be used for the development of the application.
Backend
- Choose the technological tools to be used for the development of the application.
- Define the architecture of the database.
- Design the software architecture to be implemented.
- Booking of general and specialized medical services.
- A user can select his appointment date and hour if they are available.
- Not responsible for:
- Punctuality of users or service providers.
- Without control over:
- Quality of the registered services.
- Schedule availability of the registred services.
