In Graffik, you can define hotkeys to use as shortcuts in the program. When on the appropriate screen for that function, pressing that hotkey will activate that function.

Hot keys can be accessed by going to Global Options (Gear Icon at top), and then HotKeys.

Defining HotKeys

For each hotkey available, you can define a single key, a combination of keys, or a sequence of keys to use for that hotkey.

The easiest form of defining a hotkey is to simply specify the letter to press for that function. Hotkey entries are case insensitive, therefore F and f are equivalent.

Special Keys

Special keys are available for use, and are consistent with how you would expect them named, for example:

  • Ctrl
    • a control key (Command on Mac)
  • Alt
    • an alt key
  • Shift
  • Fx
    • A function key, e.g.: F1, F2, F8, etc.
  • Left, Right, Up, Down
    • Arrow keys, left and right
  • PgDown, PgUp
    • Page up and down keys
  • Plus
    • The '+' key
  • Minus
    • The '-' key

For a complete list, see "Deep Details" below.

Combinations and Sequences

You can combinations of hot keys by using the plus symbol, meaning both keys must be pressed at the same time, e.g.:

  • Ctrl+A
  • Alt+1
  • Shift+E

To use a sequence of keys, separate any combinations in the sequence by a comma, e.g.:

  • Ctrl+A, Ctrl+1
    • Hold control (command) while pressing A, release both, and then hold control while pressing 1
  • A, F, C, F1
    • Press A, F, C, and then F1 in sequence

Removing HotKeys

To remove a hotkey from a function, clear out the field for that hotkey and then save settings. You must re-start the application before the removal is complete.

Deep Details

For complete information on the kinds of hotkeys you can define, and using system-defined sequences, see the Qt QKeySequence documentation.
