Description
From my experience, Notepad4 is a compact yet powerful text editor. I previously used Notepad++ and also tried 'Notepad Next', 'Notepad --', and 'Notepad3', but Notepad4 has really appealed to me. As an IT administrator, I frequently edit text, often opening multiple, even a dozen, text windows. In this situation, I've found some shortcomings in Notepad4. If these features could be added or improved, it would be fantastic; I could completely abandon Notepad++ and switch to Notepad4.
-
Lack of tab functionality. The inability to maintain multiple text windows within the same instance hinders efficient text editing. Currently, each text window requires a separate instance, which is very cluttered and bloated, making interaction and switching between different windows extremely inefficient. This is something I find very disappointing.
-
The lack of columnar window display makes multi-window interaction, such as text comparison, very inconvenient.
-
The right-click functionality is very limited.
-
Does not support using multiple colors to mark a selected string in one place or globally.
-
Syntax highlighting supports fewer types.
