Description
Loves
- Color variation as a circle sample dot
- parallax of image and variations/qty/description in desktop
- parallax on related items on bottom in desktop
- Awesome display of more pics than just the featured image
- spacing of everything (swoon)
- Handling of variations in general, so much more attractive than dropdowns
Opportunities
- Mobile/Portrait Tablet: It looks like some of the description text and other related items are having some overlap issues. https://cloudup.com/cjmXXv2OYQL
The following are all personal opinion so they might not be "real" issues
- Reference this for more in depth paragraph description of issue https://zaoweb.slack.com/archives/C5D59BEJD/p1498606118977067
- On mobile/tablet before I got my bearings on the site, I didn't get the toggle button to view the featured image and variation/description hearon known as left content and right content
- Once I figured out the toggle button between right and left content, I thought it was really cool and different, but I'm concerned it might be too much outside of the box
- I tend to expect to see a featured item when I click to view an item on mobile, being shown the right content first (variations, qty, description) felt confusing and that I wasn't shown the most important information first. The more I got the hang of it the more I liked it, but for less tech savvy users it could potentially be frustrating
- I like that the toggle button travels with you but would love for it to travel the entire length of the scrolling and not stop part way through the page.
- Free shipping message felt a little buried to me and easily missed on all device sizes.
[update]
- A lot of WPEC users utilize SKUs is that info you wanna show or not?
Potential Idea
- This might be really unrealistic to actually implement, but what if there is a combination of expected behavior where user starts with featured image and can scroll to see all content collapsed in one column, AND also have your toggle effect.
- Simpler idea, force the left content to show first and have to be toggled to right content instead of starting with right content shown.
Clarification
- In this example it looks like the quantities are actually variations. What would a simple product with no variations look like?
- Similarly, how would someone change the quantity of a simple product?
- The layout goes gorgeously with landscape images, how would you envision people that have portrait images?
[update]
- WPEC has sale prices out of the Box, how would that be displayed? https://cloudup.com/cdi2YRsUZ1t
