Change autonym of ami from Pangcah to Amis

This is Reke, the secretary general of Wikimedia Taiwan. As the title, I wish someone please change the autonym of Amis language from "Pangcah" to "Amis".

The reasons for this request are:

1. Amis is the official name of Amis people, especially Taiwanese government units only use this name.
2. Amis Wikipedia community wish us to do. Prof. Tsay Chung-han, a core member of the community, told Wikimedia Taiwan that he have tried to find someone help them fix the word several times.
3. According to the staff of Center for Aboriginal Studies, National Chengchi University (ALCD NCCU), the word "Pangcah" is a derogatory term, a bit close to "savage".

I'm not very familiar with program editing. However, according to my reading of the documentation, the codes need to be change should be the line 38 of langdb.yaml, and the line 229 of language-data.json. If there are other related codes, please help me to fix at the same time.

Thanks for the request! We'll probably do it soon, but just for the sake of good documentation and "paper trail", can you perhaps provide any links to other discussions about this? Were there, for example, discussions about it on talk pages in the Amis Wikipedia, or in any other public place? It doesn't matter in which language it is—Amis, Chinese, English, etc.; I'd just love to know that there was a discussion. Thank you!

Thanks for your help. I got a mail from assistant of ALCD 2 days ago, then help them to make the request. I'm trying to get the reference yesterday and still waiting now. I'll keep track of this.

Some update.

1. I have call ALCD this morning, the statement "Pangcah is a derogatory term" could be incorrect. Maybe it just the community thinks 'Amis is better than Pangcah. Discussions of this may have only existed in their work meetings in the past, and I have ask them to publish the discussion report on Amis Wikipedia or meta at least.
2. The name of this language and people should be spelled as " 'Amis " in Amis language, there is a single quote sign before the letter A. You may see the beginning of article "Sowal no Pangcah" on ami-wp (en: Amis language): O sowal no Pangcah/ O sowal no 'Amis, Pangcah ato 'Amis malecaday to.

Based on the above new information, I suggest that the code work can be held for a while to confirm the Amis community has made a public request.

No problem, thanks for the update. If you want to change it to 'Amis with a single quote in the beginning, please provide an external source for this, such as a dictionary, a grammar book, an academic article, or another encyclopedia (not Wikipedia); it can be in any language, and it doesn't have to be in English.

I think that she says "Pangcah" at 1:46 :)

So there is no doubt that the name 'Amis is valid. If the community wants to change from Pangcah to 'Amis, just point to a discussion about it, and we'll do it.
