Evo Parse Error 'action' of non-object

When searching for a word that does not have a result I end up with a Evo Parse Error:

Trying to get property 'action' of non-object
Error : mysqli::query(): (HY000/3685): Illegal argument to a regular expression.

I dont know if this line should be changed to below?
