This package gets 3.5 million monthly downloads, yet hasn't had an update in eight years.

Clearly this package is loved by so many. Are there any plans to continue it's development?

If anyone's interested, I've made a fork of this repo and published a new package called colourings. It includes a few of the PRs from this repo and fixes a few problems from the issues section, which has been documented in the readme. Note that it includes breaking changes.
