Trailing ':' does not work

Well, the title says it all, these commands open a file literally:

nvim file:0:
nvim file:9:0:

Hi, thanks for raising this.

I'm a bit hesitant to open the floodgates to trying to be too clever with interpreting the file name. Right now, there's a relatively simple rule, but if I start adding exceptions to it, we run the risk of not being able to open files that legitimately have colons in their name.

Can you let me know why you're needing to open files like file:9:0: and can't just truncate it to file:9:0 yourself first?

Well, the :0: was only an example. Of course I can truncate it by myself but this is also true for the line part - isn't it?
But then the reasoning of this plugin is gone ...

In normal vim I also have a plugin for this functionality where the tailing : does not disturb, I think it is lervag/file-line

For the reasoning of this issue: some development tools (can't remember exactly now - too early, some linter or so) spit out there hinting in this format and my terminals pick the trailing : up while selecting the file (with double click - so mark the whole "thing") for opening in neovim.
