Installing nix build on remarkable

Hi,

Could you explain how to install the nix version of the build to the remarkable? Is the linking correct, should it be on top of Toltec ? In that case, how to generate the ipk files?
Or should I use nix-copy-closure ?

Hey,

There are two targets in the flake for the remarkable, .#dev-cross which uses nix to build the targets.
This can be nix copy'd to the rM2, assuming nix is installed on the device. I'd recommend against using this, as for example the rm2fb_server won't work as the nix ld won't match the xochitl ld.

The .#dev-rm2-toolchain uses the remarkable toolchain, and should just work. It's useful in a devshell, you can run ninja package to get ipk files out. This can then be installed using toltec. These packages will only work on xochitl 3.20 though.

Finally, the toltec toolchain can be used through docker. This works quite well, and will support more xochitl version.
