Promote the use of the community data use example register

Let's consider, say, that we run this repo on the data-govt-nz GH organisation, how might we go about promoting the use of it?

• Guest blog from @thoughtfulbloke explaining why it was set up and how to use it to contribute.
• Twitter
• Meetup talks
• Informational content about it and invitation to contribute on data.govt.nz somewhere

Any other ideas?

2. Yep, I suspect Twitter will create the main initial awareness in the usual suspects of the NZ data community

3. I am an organiser for the Dunedin Opendata meet ups so will mention it there

4. By all means data.govt it

There are few educational networks I'd like put it on the radar of as well, as it is the kind of thing that could be very popular for students doing projects- either looking for inspiration or showing off work, and it would be good for the lecturers to know about it.

Given we seem to have done the prep now, do you want to fork it and data.govt.nz be the official document of record for this?

If you just move it I'll add you as a contributor/maintainer on the repo anyway :)

Going through the transfer process I got "You don’t have the permission to create repositories on data-govt-nz" which I was kinda expecting from the documentation. Because I have not transferred ownership before I am unsure of the degree this counts as a success. (If it doesn't feel, free to just download the zip, load the files into a fresh repo on data-govt-nz, then I'd delete this one)

I see, perhaps that is meant to work if you are a member of the organisation and the repo... I think if you can make me a maintainer of your repo I can transfer it cleanly.

If making you a collaborator is sufficient, that is what I just did (by the sounds you should have gotten an email)

I think you have to give me "owner/admin" status for this to work.

I think that is a "people on organisational accounts" feature (related to transferring ownership), at least that is what is indicated by the documentation I am reading.

I think it boils down to you can fork, or setup an new version of the repo using a downloaded copy.

That's a pain, was hoping to retain the historic conversations leading up to the forming of this... never mind. I'll look to set up a fresh repo for this.
