RFCs supported and testing

Hello!

Thanks for developing and sharing this. I have a few questions:

1. What RFCs are supported? The comments in the code mention RFC5880 and RFC5881.
2. Is there a way to test this without an actual router? For instance, can I run bfdd on two different machines that talk to each other?
3. Are there any known issues in the current implementation?
4. Are you planning to make any enhancements in the near future?

Hi,

1. I have oriented on both of these, but not implemented them fully, for example only SimplePasswordAuthentication is implemented. Also the ECHO feature has not been implemented.

Additionally it currently throws a panic (peer.go:177 and peer.go:197) if you change the desiredMinTx (to something bigger) or requiredMinRx (to something smaller) if the session is up and it needs a delayed apply.

2. Yes, I actually don't have a router with bfd enabled, so all functionality was only tested with 2 of the clients communicating to each other - I have checked the packets also with tcpdump and they seem fine - but I plan on testing with a switch that supports bfd

3. see 1) and obviously I don't check any Forwarding Plane issues etc. So it's pure packet sending + state keeping

4. Yes, I want to update the README (so that it's not a plain code repository) and implement a gobgpd <-> bfdd connector so you can use it for something :)

Be aware that it's currently only logging out if the state changes, and you can control the state via the cli tool, you have to listen on the API yourself to actually react on the state changes.
