Transition from tmux to Ghostty #2

Description

@simono

I’m planning to transition from tmux to using Ghostty exclusively, as Ghostty now offers overlapping features, better integration with my setup, and faster performance.
Below are the key points I’d like to address or explore as part of this migration:

  • Background detection works with Ghostty.
  • Use background detection in tools that support it (e.g. bat and delta).
  • Activate Ghostty keybindings.
  • Evaluate or configure copy mode equivalent.
  • Investigate a replacement for tmux-fingers for fuzzy text selection and copy.
  • Idea: Copy screen content directly into vim or fzf, inspired by this discussion.
  • Rewrite startup of fish in Ghostty config and zprofile.
  • Lightweight tmux conf, only used when i need synchronized panes.
  • Research why the cursor is not correctly in vim normal mode. See Ghostty Fish integration.

This issue serves as a planning and tracking point for the full switch from tmux to Ghostty.
