Ubuntu/artful64 virtualbox to libvirt issue

I try to mutate a ubuntu/artful64 box from virtualbox to libvirt but it doesn't boot afterwards.
It doesn't get an IP, and virt-manager shows a stalling, incomplete boot process (see screenshot below).
I tried with ubuntu/bionic64 but the problem persists.
