Here's how to get QuickNFO working in Catalina

Compile instructions:

• Install latest Xcode on macOS Catalina.

• "Clone or downoad" -> "Download ZIP" from this github ZIP and extract it.

• Open QuickNFO.xcodeproj from Finder. Xcode will open it.

• Press the arrow play button in top LH corner.

• It generates the plugin file for you in a zip in the project folder.

• Place your QuickNFO.qlgenerator file into Library/QuickLook (not the user folder one).

Did not work for me... I've placed file under /Library/QuickLook/

I tried the compiled plugin that mindfulsource provided however it is not signed with a verified Apple ID so I think the best course is compile it yourself using the instructions that mindfulsource has provided above.

I put it in my ~/Library/QuickLook/ directory but I needed to restart Finder before the change took effect.

All files inside of the "QuickNFO.qlgenerator.Catalina.compiled.zip" provided above by @overseeing have a time stamp of 2014, so this cannot be the version compiled for Catalina. In fact, this ZIP-Archive is bitwise identical to the one offered in the README.md file (which does not work for me either).

Sorry, but all of this won't work. QuickNFO needs to be rewritten for Catalina, since Quicklook Plugins now are implemented as "QuickLook Preview Extensions". Maybe if I have a bit of free time, I will create a new, Swift only version of this plugin, but as I don't really have the need for viewing NFO files anymore, I'd be just as happy if someone else would pick up this task...

I recently had a hit of nostalgia and after a quick google search I ended up here. I'm a bit bummed this did not work if I'm quite honest - was looking forward to browsing through old scene releases and looking through that old ASCII art.

I tried this in Catalina. Running this won't create a zip file for you.
