[bug] WASM emulator crashes/aborts upon tapping

i've tested on firefox on linux, firefox on android 13, and chrome on android 13. all 3 abort on first tap.

also rarely the emulator won't start until the console is closed, it can then be reopened. there is no console output for this (none that is different from when the emulator starts normally)
