Voltage Regulators Need Clamping Diodes #3
Description
The linear +/- 5 V regulators need clamping diodes to stabilize startup.
Right now the regulators may not start up correctly and result in wrong values at the log video (LV) output.
To work around this issue, monitor the LV output when the power supplies are turned on. If the LV output is not around 0.5 V, then turn off the supply to the +5 V regulator and turn it back on (leave -5 V supply on). After 2-3 tries the +5 regulator should start up as expected.
This was tested by driving the +5 V regulator with a +12 V supply and the -5 V regulator with a -12 V supply.
