Dear Members,
We wanted to inform you about an important change in our security policy that will affect our organization's members, billing managers, and outside collaborators on GitHub.
Starting August 1, 2024, we will enforce Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for all members of our organization. This is a crucial step towards enhancing the security of our organization and your accounts.
Two-factor authentication (2FA), also known as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), adds an extra layer of security to your account. It requires not only a password and username but also something that only the user has on them, such as a piece of information only they should know or have immediately on hand—like a physical token or a specific code sent to their device.
If you do not have 2FA enabled for your account by the specified date, you will be removed from the organization and receive an email notifying you about the change.
We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but we believe the security benefits far outweigh the initial setup time. Enforcing 2FA is a proactive measure to ensure that our organization's data remains secure and that your personal accounts are protected from unauthorized access.
We strongly encourage everyone to enable 2FA on their accounts immediately. If you need assistance or have questions about setting up 2FA, please study GitHub's Guide about 2FA.
Remember, your security is our priority. Let's work together to keep our organization and your accounts safe.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
