ARM clients?

Is there an intention to eventually support arm devices as clients? My host OS is from https://archlinuxarm.org/. It would really help when I'm running containers on it.

cpcache already supports most ARM platforms. If it doesn't work for you, please let me know how you run cpcache (AUR PKGBUILD or docker image), what platform you're using (uname -a) and the exact error output.

I have installed it on my pi from aur. It currently acts as a server. I have not yet tried to configure my pi as a client.

Only x86_64 clients are supported by cpcache, which means that while cpcache can be installed on an ARM device, it cannot serve files to clients which run anything other than the official Arch Linux distribution.

Sorry, I missed the client part. The documentation you have cited is correct and up-to-date, ARM clients are currently not supported. I don't intent to support ARM clients in the short-term. I assume that most users care about ARM support only for servers, which is already covered, but I'll leave this issue open for a while so that people can leave a thumbs up.

Just for those who are interested in the details: ARM clients are currently not supported due to the fact that there are some differences between the mirror handling of ArchLinux (x86) and ArchLinux ARM. ArchLinux (x86) provides an HTTP endpoint (https://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/status/json/) that yields very useful information about the quality of all official mirrors. cpcache makes use of this information to decide which mirrors should be used. For ArchLinux ARM, there is no such endpoint, and there are very few official mirrors. Clients are not supposed to pick the mirror themselves, instead, they should all refer to the same address, which then returns a redirect to the actual mirror using GeoIP geolocation. So a part of the functionality that cpcache provides would not be available for ARM clients, even if cpcache would support them.

My current aim for cpcache is to improve the stability and testability, as well as to improve the mirror selection process, so I won't be able to implement ARM client support in the short-term.
