Never got it to read the log file. Any tips?

Where did you put the nparse files? Typically this happens when you run the tool from a location that requires admin access to write files. Try putting it on your desktop or in your Documents or Downloads folder, or changing the permissions of the current folder if you know what you're doing with windows file system perms.
