Mention F10 in the menu to make this feature visible

Context:

I came across this issue on adding hotkey to open menu on headless machine that doesn't have a mouse.

Key F10 was used to open menu, and issue was closed.

Problem:

F10 is great, but no where in the repo nor doc nor help in the edit itself mentions F10 can be used to open menu on machine that only have keyboard.

Suggestion:

There should be a text in the status bar saying something like "Press F10 to open menu".

Or at the center of page when edit command opened a brand new file, simialr to how VIM used to display a message when vim is started with just vim.

When user starts typing, the message should automatically disappear.

My plan is to eventually add customizable keybindings. This would allow us to easily list them as well. Then, we could make it so that F1 opens the keybinding list. Would that make sense?

Personally, I'm not a big fan of specifically calling out the existence of F10 there. If a F1 keybinding existed, I'd rather call out that.

I understand it is intrusive to calling out the existence. Also if there is F1, I would and will suggest calling out F1 instead.

However, I would still recommend list F10 next to F1, because "the button to open men" will certainly be a FAQ. Because this took me 5 minutes searching to find the issue plus reading, while the problem can be easily solved by calling it out, and frequent enough that it worth get addressed immediately. (No user complaining doesn't mean no problem, user often just uninstall and never complains; and I almost did uninstall).

My train of thought is: user navigate using eyeball, if they don't see any mention, then it is de-facto non-existent. Which, IMHO, is why START menu was one of the greatest design if not the greatest. User sees "START", then they click it to start, and rest of the interaction follows with no further tutorial required.

I believe calling out F1 and/or F10 will achieve similar effect and improve user experience.

I would say that calling out F10, at least on Windows, is unnecessary because that's been a standard "activate the menu" keystroke for probably more than 20 years. (Same reason why we don't need to call out Home, End, etc.)

Useful to call it out on Linux at least, since my primary usage of edit is to replace nano/vim with Edit and sadly I never knew F10 since my work almost always required me to use Ubuntu.

I really like the idea of having a dropdown menu in cli tool, it is way better and intuitive than every other cli tool I used on Linux.

Combining with the shortcut in each menu item, the menu itself is help menu which is amazing.

Those keys kinda speak for themselves. F10 is not immediately obvious except by tradition. Tradition has to be written down in order for someone to learn about it.
I know the context menu key, which is self explanatory, but sadly sometimes omitted by the keyboard manufacturer.
