Question: Wiki + SqlServerDsc Integration

Hi there

First up sorry for using an issue to ask my two questions. Unfortunately the discussions feature is disabled.

I am struggling with the following:

• Is there a proper documentation/wiki/how-to to this project? If not, could you maybe link me a reference project?
• I would like to use your tool to create DSC configurations for existing MSSQL servers using SqlSeerverDsc. Is there already a resource out there you know of? Am I on the right track with using your project?

No, there isn't really a documentation about it (unfortunately). ReverseDSC is mainly used in conjuction with Microsoft365DSC, where we fetch the information from Microsoft Graph, Teams PowerShell, Exchange Online etc. and then we use the Get-DSCBlock function to convert our hashtables with the properties to DSC content, which we then save.

Unfortunately, the SQL server resources don't support exporting the configuration. They don't implement an Export-TargetResource function which we could then execute. The source code of the SQL resources is here: https://github.com/dsccommunity/SqlServerDsc/blob/main/source/DSCResources/

Just open any of the .psm1 files and check the function *-TargetResource definitions. Unless there is an Export-TargetResource function, it's not possible for us to do that. For reference, here is an example of a resource in the Microsoft365DSC repository:
