Backup not performed when KP is closed as per setting

I have the setting for KPSB to make a backup whenever it is closed - it never does. I can exit the app either from within KP or the system tray icon and it immediately closes without a backup. Only a manual backup works or if I enable the option to backup on save so it backs up when I save. Wonder if it's because no automatic save is done when exiting i.e. no changes are made.

I've to check whether this feature depends on a KeePass setting that you might have been disabled.

But as of now, I don't understand why it wouldn't make proper Backups.

Just adding a comment here to say that this is also happening to me. The backups are happening fine on Save, but never on Lock, Close or Exit operations.

Upon first configuring the plugin, I disabled "Backup Database on Save" and enabled "Backup Database on Close". I also enabled the Long-Term Backups feature and explicitly configured the database path as the "Folder for backup files". I observed that the configured target folder contained no new items (no backup files and no subfolders).

I opened and closed KeePass a few times and observed that no file or folder objects were created in the target folder.

I enabled the "Backup Database on Save" feature, and saved the database, and I observed that the backup files and folder structure were created.

I'm also using version 1.4.0.0
