General remark : for a chapter on the lexicon it is strange that so little
attention is paid to the distinction between words and lexemes; it is mentioned
in footnote 1, but ignored in the rest of the chapter; as such it does not
mesh well with what is said in Chapter 1. See also the remark below about
Figure 7.
