Swing/Awt Interop - Embedding in existing ui

Hi there,
is there any chance to get this embedded like a component or widget in a existing swing based application?

I've already seen that Compose integration as an alternative approach is not possible at the moment.

Recently I managed to set up a GLcanvas with jogl and interop with rust through its listener.

Then I stumbled about Kool. It would be very nice to utilize it transforming a dinosaur java/kotlin 3D application.

If it's not possible I might go the rust path since there are a lot of performant and maintained libraries available.

If I'm not mistaken, there was a template for embedding Kool inside Intellij IDEA (Swing based)

Yes, Swing integration is possible (see link above for an example). It works best with the Vulkan backend, with OpenGL it has a few more quirks but might work as well.
