Same here. Big fan. Looks like 2020 acs5 will be release on March 17, 2022. What is the timeline on bringing that in the package?

Beware of the 2020 ACS! It is considered highly unreliable by the Census Bureau itself.

Thank you for your interest, and I'm glad you are finding the package helpful. The package should support downloading the 2020 data without any further updates once those are posted online. It is only the documentation search functions that will require updates. I do not have an ETA for updating those; you can refer to the Census website directly in the meantime.

Note that the major reliability concerns are with the 1-year estimates from 2020. The 5-year estimates for 2016-2020 are a normal release.

This looks like an error from the Census API rather than the package, but without a specific example of code raising this error I cannot provide further information.

There are 18 tables that are NOT present in the 2020 ACS5 based on the csv file you can find here: https://www.census.gov/data/developers/data-sets/acs-5year.html#detailed

This may be the reason for the error.

Due to other commitments, I am unable to continue maintaining this package or to add support for 2020 data. The code is freely available and anyone who would like to is more than welcome to build off it.
