Description
While working on a Markdown document that includes my email address, I noticed that it was being modified to include a mailto: URI, essentially turning it into a clickable link when it is processed/viewed as HTML. I didn't want this, so I changed it. But then it came back. A few times! 😕
For example:
info@example.com ---- changes to ----> [info@example.com](mailto\:info@example.com)
At first I wasn't sure why this was happening, but I'm pretty sure now that markdown-docs is behind this behavior. Does that sound right?
If it is indeed the case, I would really like to see this behavior disabled by default, and I'd suggest a setting to let it be toggled on and off. In addition to not wanting clickable links in some of my docs, when they get added automatically, it adds additional noise to my git diffs.
As a matter of principle, tools shouldn't modify or correct my text for me. (In my opinion, of course.) Automatic improvements to Markdown docs could be really nice sometimes, but only when it is done with my consent.
