Question: Commenting standards #2

Does markdown-docs use an existing standard for the Markdown comments? For example, something that can be read by other tools?
One system that I am aware of — although there are probably others — is Critic Markup. It looks like you don't use that one in particular, though.
P.S. Is Issues the best place to ask questions like mine, or is there a better method?
