Problem

This P53s is an example but we have seen this issue with lots of models. Some others include the X1 Yoga Gen 5 and Gen 6 as well as the T15.

When running the LSUclient to install drivers and BIOS sometimes the computers will get into a state where the power button is flashing and the only way out of it is to pin hole reset the device underneath. I'm in the early stages of trying to troubleshoot this issue but I wanted to see if others have heard of it or if you know what might be causing it? This is happening both when running the module on an already imaged machine as well as when we try to run it in our task sequence. It also does not happen every time, I would guess it is about 30% of the time.

I've seen this on a few ThinkPad models maybe a year or so ago, but just excluded BIOS updates for those and then the problem never really came back again.

But if you are seeing it on so many different models so regularly it's definitely a systemic problem. Unfortunately I don't have any futher information or help right now, I'll have to ask around at work whether my colleagues have seen this problem during any of our deployments recently.

If you find out any additional information please let me know, I doubt it's a problem that can be fixed or worked around in LSUClient but it'll still be important to know for everyone using it.

From all the clients we're using LSUClient so far, this issue happened the most on the X380. Dont ask me why, i have no clue. Same Build, same Drivers but some just stuck on a Black Screen after the Bios update.
Personally i dont think it has something to do with the LSUClient.

I checked the release notes for the BIOS on the 20N7 machine referenced in this thread:

We have around 900 Lenovo devices splitted up in 22 models. We only saw this behavior at a a few T15 computers... not all. I assume it is a poorly written BIOS upgrade of Lenovo. they did't cover certain situations. We also have some issues with some P340 as well, after a Bios update, the computer starts to bootloop : the only fix then is pressing the power button until the unit turns off. Both cases are reported to premier support L3. As of today still no fix to prevent it.
